In line with the global carbon reduction action, the Powerchip Semiconductor Charity Committee will once again cooperate with the Compassion Organic Agriculture Development Foundation to carry out the Taiwan Green Great Wall tree planting operation in 2024, planting 1,000 additional trees.

In response to World Earth Day, on the 20th, General Manager Brian Shieh led company executives, colleagues and their families to join hands in planting 500 saplings in the coastal forest near Xinyuesha Bay in Zhubei to take practical actions. Love the earth. Another 500 tree saplings were commissioned by the Compassionate Compassionate Foundation's tree care team to be planted near the coast of Wujie, Yilan. The foundation will send specialists to protect the trees for three years until the saplings can grow stably and thrive on their own.

Dr.Brian Shieh said that under the international consensus of "Net Zero by 2050", low-carbon operations and the use of green energy have become important goals for PSMC's operations. In addition to building an all-round smart factory environment, such as introducing AI artificial intelligence and big data technology, purchasing green electricity, and building self-built solar power to improve production energy efficiency and reduce carbon emissions, PSMC uses tree planting activities to contribute to the development of a sustainable environment.

The three common windbreak tree species planted in Crescent Bay this time are, like last year, Lintou, Hibiscus and Casuarina, which are wind-resistant and salt-tolerant. The roots of these tree species can fix sand and soil, intercept flying sand, replenish sand sources, help improve the local environment and ecology, and at the same time delay the retreat of the coastline.

The 500 trees planted by PSMC on the day of the event are equivalent to reducing carbon emissions by 5,000 kilograms a year. A total of 120 employees, family members and friends participated in this event, taking actions to protect our land and environment.

PSMC continues to fulfill its corporate responsibility for sustainable operations and mobilizes the kindness of its employees to exert a positive impact on communities and society.
