As a member of a socially responsible global village , Powerchip Semiconductor Manufacturing Corp.(PSMC) is committed to environmental protection, occupational safety and health promotion and actively executes the implementation of the Environmental Safety Management Systems such as: ISO-14001, ISO45001, CNS-45001 (TOSHMS), ISO-50001 (Energy Management), Greenhouse Gas Verification, Corporate Responsibility Report, etc. This practice ensures that environmental management, occupational safety, and health related management activities within the company are in line with international trends.
The operation of the Environmental Safety and Security Management System of PSMC follows the Environmental Safety and Security Policy the general manager promulgates along with plans to promote environmental safety and health management according to the organizational structure. At the beginning of each year, screening procedures and results based on major issues of corporate social responsibility, and each department will implement the specific feasible work targets according to the risk and opportunity assessment results and then follow the progress of the quarterly implementation. The Internal Environmental Safety Audit, conducted every six months, will check and correct the overall system operation and implementation. The audit and system implementation results will be reported to the Environmental and Safety Management Committee for review. Based on these results, revisions will be made to achieve continuous improvement.
Since its establishment in 1995, PSMC has successively won the Enterprise Environmental Protection Award and the Golden Dragon Award, the National Excellent Promotion of Labor Safety and Health Excellence Unit, the Excellent Safety and Health Unit of the Science and Technology Bureau, the Good Practice Workplace Pilot Award, the Excellent Workplace Health Management Award, the Park Green Beauty Environmental Maintenance Competition Excellent Manufacturers, Energy Conservation and Carbon Reduction Action Labels, Science and Industry Park Water Conservation Excellence Awards, Ammonia Nitrogen Wastewater Reduction Excellence Enterprise Award, EPD's Poison Operation Management Excellence Unit, and Waste Reduction and Resource Recycling Excellence Enterprise Awards. The 300mm wafer factory received the honor of the "National Safety and Health Award" twice, in 2010 and 2017.
